Everyone is supposed to have a little candida in their gastrointestinal tract however an overgrowth can lead to only problems. This occurs when too much of our "friendly bacteria" that keeps candida in check dies off. Common killers of friendly bacteria include antibiotics, steroids like cortisone, birth-control pills, estrogen replacement, therapy, stress, caffeine, and alcohol. A diet high in leavened, aged or sweet, foods can also trigger the growth of yeast. Once candidiasis sets in, candida puts out 79 toxic by-products, all of which weaken the body in different ways. As candidiasis progresses, it interferes with nutrient absorption, which not only slows the metabolism, but also starves the body of energizing vitamins and minerals, triggering sluggishness and intense cravings. Eventually, candida changes into a fungus that burrows into the intestinal linings, creating a leaky gut and allowing yeast, fungus and particles of food into the bloodstream. The body develops antibodies to these escaped particles, further stressing an already stressed immune system.
Our most recent experience in helping hundreds of customers deal with Candida has shown that there is not one product to do the job. You must first realize that Candida is often as difficult to deal with as many types of Cancer. One Caution: as yeast/candida begins to die off, you may experience mild flu-like symptoms. Nutrition 2000 has developed three different protocols, depending on severity, to help replenish "friendly bacteria" as well as help kill of excess candida. In order to these products to work effectively, you must also tweak your diet by eliminating the foods that yeast feeds on for at least three weeks. Yeast-containing foods like bread and beet; mold-containing foods like blue cheese and wine, fermented foods like vinegar and soy sauce; and any food that results in high levels of blood sugar -- namely sweets, high-sugar fruits and refined carbohydrates like white rice. If your feeling overwhelmed by this list of no-nos, keep in mind that you start feeling better--usually 3-4 weeks after you start--you can begin to reintroduce favorite foods (in moderation). JUST REMEMBER THAT SHOULD YOU RESUME EATING LARGE QUANTITIES OF YEAST-FRIENDLY FOODS, THE PROBLEM COULD RECUR.
